The Offering debuted the video for its latest single Friday.

The band debuted the video for its new single ‘Ultraviolence‘ at its official YouTube channel.  The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Home, which is scheduled for release Aug. 2 through Century Media Records.  The video finds front man Alexander Richichi making his way through a forest setting, coming in contact with a variety of subjects, and none of those meetings ending well.

The Offering guitarist Nishad George explained the concept behind the video in a recent interview.

“For ‘Ultraviolence,’ we wanted to make a video that represents one of the recurring themes Alex sings about on Home, which is the war between the ears,” George said.  “To visually depict this, I wanted to emphasize the physical, emotional and intellectual breakdown that happens when you lose the battle against yourself.  We made a screenplay inspired by ‘The Most Dangerous Game,’ but set in the inner forest, with each remaining band mate representing one of the three aforementioned aspects of humanity.  This was incredibly hard to film as Alex put himself in a lot of physical danger to pull it off.  We hope you enjoy it.”

The Boston, MA-based band’s new video is now the second to come from Home.  The band debuted the lyric video for the record’s lead single ‘Failure (S.O.S.)‘ May 31.

The Offering has a short European tour scheduled to take place between July 20 and Aug. 3 in support of Home.  The tour’s schedule is noted below.

July 20 – Gävle, Sweden – Gefle Metal Festival
July 25 – Takarodó, Hungary – Fezen Festival
July 28 – Munich, Germany – Free & Easy (Werkstatt-Studio)
August 3 – Wacken, Germany – Wacken Open Air

Pre-orders are open now for Home.  Home will come almost two years since the band released its self-titled EP through Century Media.
