Contributor’s Note:  It was lovely chatting with Brianna Musco, who is a national touring indie musician from New Jersey.  Considering she is in the process of releasing her new EP entitled “Forever”, she is starting to make a buzz with her honest songwriting, quality musicianship, and a flair for making people feel something with her music.  She just wrapped up her East Coast run and she took some time out to interview with me and some students about what has been going on with her and how she got involved in music.  Fans can find her at the following locations:

* Disclaimer, in order to protect identities, students names will not be used:

MUEN Magazine:  Brianna, how is it going today?

Brianna:  I am doing great, thanks for having me and I like the opportunity to get to talk to some students.

MUEN:  How did you get involved in music?

Brianna:  My Uncle Vinnie was really into music and while I was playing sports, I would practice guitar with my Uncle Vinnie.  He showed the love for music and playing music.  I had a few concussions while I played soccer in college, so I studied classical guitar.

MUEN:  What is the coolest part about being a musician?

Brianna:  Definitely traveling and meeting new people.  I got to travel for a semester to Florence, Italy and this past summer I did a tour from New Jersey and hit up some Midwest venues.  My bandmates and I love finding the locals and asking them where the good places to eat and to visit are.  The locals know best when it comes to their cities, and they know the hidden gems as well!  The absolute thing I love is when people smile, sing, and dance at the shows.  I know that people have tough weeks and might be going through some things and if I’m able to put a smile on someone’s face in my music, it is all worth it to me.

MUEN:  Favorite place that you stopped this past summer?

Brianna:  Definitely Chicago because of their deep dish pizza! *laughs*

MUEN:  What is the most challenging part about being a musician?

Brianna:  I am somewhat of a perfectionist in the studio, I have been known to scrap a whole song if I don’t like a couple of parts in the song.  I want each note to have a purpose in the music.

MUEN:  Who are your favorite musicians?

Brianna:  I love Fleetwood Mac, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and James Taylor.

MUEN:  What is your favorite song to listen to?

Brianna:  “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac.

MUEN:  Does your family miss you when you’re out on the road?

Brianna:  Of course they do, but I am so blessed and grateful for them because they have always supported me in everything I do.  I owe everything to my family.

MUEN:  What are your plans for this year?

Brianna:  Playing as many shows as possible, want to release my EP entitled “Forever”, I am in the studio and recording for that.  I want to play all 50 states plus I want to hit up the U.K.

MUEN:  What else would you like to add?

Brianna:  Huge thank you, school is so important, so be great no matter what you decide to be when you grow up.  Follow me on my socials @briannamusco I love hearing from my fans.

And there you have it!  As of press time, Brianna is in the studio but please check back her socials for news and information!  A huge thank you to Brianna Musco for taking the time for MUEN Magazine for this!  In the meantime, check out her cover to “Paris” by The Chainsmokers!
