Out of Cleveland, Ohio is where the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame resides.  Also it is where famous rap group Bone Thugs N Harmony resides.  Soon, Tropidelic will be a household name from Cleveland, especially with their release via LAW Records entitled “Heavy Is The Head”.

Tropidelic is a six-piece band that probably combines as many different styles of music as band members.  Tropidelic is the word “eclectic” personified as they are composed by Matthew Roads on vocals, James Begin on trombone/vocals, Bobby Chronic on guitars, Darrick Willis on drums, Pags on bass, and Derek McBryde on trumpet.  They have shared the stage with the likes of 311, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, and Sugar Ray.
The world will begin to realize who Tropidelic is with the incredibly harmonic vocals of “Leviathan”.  It starts with incredibly haunting acapella vocals and combining that with reggae vocals that Matthew Roads provides.  The song slowly builds but it is incredible, and I MEAN INCREDIBLY well done with the harmonies the story telling in the lyrics, and the music has this slow build that offers that balance with having the listener being patient as they take in the music combined with the listener being on the edge of their seat.  After “Leviathan”, the listener knows that they are in for something eclectic and wonderful with Tropidelic.
“Heavy Is the Head” showcases a mix of reggae and ska which will make fans of The Wailers shout with glee combined with fans of bands like Sublime and Reel Big Fish mob and vibe with glee.  The music incorporates a mix of politics and humor while oozing with charisma.  Tropidelic and the word charisma are going to be synonymous with each other before long.
“Highs And Lows” has a melancholic feel at the beginning but it breaks it with a shiny brass section along with the reggae vibe while having a singer/songwriter vibe to it.  There is something about this music that causes people to mob and vibe to it.
The feelings and vibe this whole record is incredible.  Each track is intricately interwoven like the finest silks presented to the Emperor while splashing some feel good tie-dye in order to showcase some flavor and color to the fine silk.
Could this be one of the most diverse, eclectic, and most wonderful record of the year?  I would not be surprised with this effort.  Consider Mind: Blown!  Incredible effort from Tropidelic!  Go pick up this record as soon as possible!
