The Vikings and Bears will play live in primetime Monday night to finish off the fifth week of the National Football League’s 2017 – ’18 season.

The NFC North divisional opponents will play live on ESPN’s Monday Night Footballbroadcast beginning at 8:15 p.m. ET.  Suzy Kolber and her Monday Night Countdowncohorts – NFL analysts Matt Hasselbeck, Randy Moss, Charles Woodson, and Steve Young, ESPN NFL Insiders Chis Mortensen, Louis Riddick and Adam Schefter, and ESPN senior fantasy sports analyst Matthew Berry – will be on the air ahead of Monday night’s game beginning at 6 p.m. ET live from ESPN’s studios.

The Monday Night Football team of Sean Mcdonough, Jon Gruden and Lisa Salters will offer commentary during the broadcast.  Michelle Beisner-Buck and Chris Berman will have features during the broadcast, too.

Monday night’s game will mark the 14th time that the Vikings and Bears, who sit third and fourth respectively in the NFC North, will have played live on MNF.  That makes the teams’ latest appearance the third-most in the Monday Night Football history.  It is also just one of nine divisional matchups scheduled for this season’s Monday Night Football broadcast schedule.

The Bears (1 – 3) and Vikings (2 – 2) will both be hungry for a win Monday night after both lost in Week 4.  Chicago fell to Green Bay in Week 4’s opening game 35 – 14 while the Vikings fell to Detroit 14 – 7, so a win for Minnesota would finally put the Vikings on the positive side of .500 while a loss would drop the team to one below.

A win for the host Bears would put Chicago one game closer to .500 while a loss would put the team even more in the whole as the season gets one more week closer to midway.

Chicago is currently 1 – 1 at home this season while Minnesota is 0 – 1 on the road.  Those records make Monday’s game even more pivotal for both teams.

Sean McDonough will have the call for Monday’s game and will be joined in the booth by Jon Gruden for additional commentary. Lisa Salters will be on the sidelines for all of the latest in-game news and interviews.
