The Moon CD Review for Lunatics

The Moon

Lunatics

Independent Release

The Moon come from Udine, Italy and brings with them the nostalgic feel of the early 90’s alternative movement.  The production is good, the songs carefully structured and the melodies thoughtful. There’s even a tinge of late 60’s influence such as The Mammas and The Pappas with the reverb esque thumbprint that was so rampant in rock back then.

Lunatics contains 10 solid tracks that clock in at just under a half hour with each song hitting the proper marks that a well crafted song should hit.  This demonstrates that the band is focused, concise and extremely adroit in musically getting their point across and doing so in a way that neither the material nor the message suffers.

Listening to this album reminded me of the days when Lollapalooza was THE show to see and MTV was still a channel that embraced all sorts of genres (of music.  To be fair, the channel still showcases a myriad of genres… of the douchebag variety).

So if you’re into or were into bands like School of Fish, The Cranberries or even Oasis without the snarky, condescending attitude, then give The Moon a listen.

I’m not sure exactly where you can purchase their CD Lunatics, but I’d bet there’s info at www.myscpace.com/themoonrockband
